Day 34
Friday
Friday was a blissfully sunny day and I personally was really excited for the day ahead. Our morning session at Barbados community college is always really fun and different to what we're used to doing... So I enjoy the change and try to really embrace any benefits we gain from it.
However...... I had an accident on the way to work. Hitting into the back of someone on warrens roundabout. Before anyone comments, I have to stress that it was the slightest of touches and it was just a lapse of concentration. There was a big gap for him to go and I nudged the back of his car... I thought he had gone! There was zero damage to my car and zero damage to his, but the procedure out here is that the insurance has to be called, roadside recovery and the police!! Nightmare. Considering we could have just drove away, the guy wanted to go through all the correct procedure because it was not his car. We were there for and hour for nothing really! Very annoying! In an automatic car, as soon as you take your foot off the break it begins to create a biting point and starts moving which I'm not massively use to just yet! My foot was on the break hence why the bump was so minuscule! Not going to dwell on it though, have to learn from my mistakes!
We arrived at the college at 10:30 , to a much anticipated sarcastic welcome! "Who was driving?" "Welcome to Barbados!" "Good luck getting home" were just a few comments I received! I found it funny though, not the crash of course, but the welcome I got when I arrived. The session went well considering we turned up late, we covered offside, the structure of a coaching session and what needs to be done and then headed Into the futsal hall to cover some practical work on passing.
Our final session of the day was at Colleridge and Parry who are always a handful but are very keen on football. We continued our topic of the week (shooting) which went pretty well despite a fight at the end of the game!
Our Friday night was dedicated to meeting to Aran and Evan for some drinks at Oistins which always has a pleasant, positive atmosphere on Fridays. I'm glad we're meeting up with them so much!
It was my aunties birthday today so happy birthday Kate if you're reading this! Enjoy your trip away!
It was also my mum and dad's 28th anniversary today. Quite a big milestone in my opinion! Hope you guys enjoy your trip to Cyprus and may you be together for many more years to come!!
Weekend is nearly here! WOOP
All the best
Luke
