Day 9

Day 9

St Georges school was our first session. Last week they were very disruptive and hardly ever listened. Nothing had changed this week, I guess in a way though it's definitely a big wake up for Shaz and I on a Monday morning. The session went pretty bad if I'm honest but something both Shaz and I did discover from both of our sessions, is that they work 10x better when they are constantly doing something. For example, when we did handball and possession they were so much better than when we were doing our drill. So that's definitely an aspect we'll take into consideration when planning next time!

Our second session was at Lester Vaughan, a school that was cancelled last week because of a cross country examination. This week we had 10 for our session, not the best in terms of numbers but definitely an amount we could work with! The session went really well and it gave us a big boost after a tricky start this morning! Just what we needed.

To finish the day, we had a session at Alleyne school. This school cancelled last week due to the water supply being off, so we wasn't sure if this week would be on and whether a message had been passed round that we were coming! When we arrived, kids were somewhat excited that we had arrived, some more than others! One boy called Renaldo was really helpful and showed us to the teachers, he was a boy that was in Grade 1 (Year 7 in UK terms).  This session went swimmingly too and we had a decent number of 22 participants, a very good way to end the day!

Shaz and I arrived home at around 5 our time, I skyped my mum and dad for the first time in a few days which was nice. My face looking rather beetroot after being bamboozled by the Barbados weather. It was a very calm, cloudy day however the sun still burnt me to a crisp.

Not a bad day overall!!

All the best

Luke
